People who have come to the United Arab Emirates on a visit visa can renew it without having to first leave the country again in order to do so.
There are a variety of methods that this can be done via Dubai’s General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs or a number of travel agents who are based in the UAE.
The part that will please visitors the most is that they no longer have to leave the UAE in order to renew their visa, which offers much more convenience for those who are keen to stay longer.
Tourist visas are aimed at people who are not eligible for a visa on arrival or a visa-free entry.
Individuals from all around the world can obtain a tourist visa to come to the UAE, though women under the age of 18 can only come if accompanied by their parents.
In July last year, the UAE cabinet passed a resolution that allowed children under the age of 18 who are travelling with their parents to get a free visa that lasts from 15th July to 15th September every year.
Tourist visas to the UAE can be issued for durations of either 30 or 90 days and in the form of either a single-entry or a multiple-entry visa.
Licensed travel agents and hotels within the UAE are able to arrange tourist visas for their clients if they purchase a ticket through them and keep a reservation with particular hotels.
It is possible to apply for a UAE visit visa via airlines.
There are some conditions attached that will vary between different airlines and these will need to be met prior to them arranging the visa on your behalf.
Every airline will include the condition that you have to fly with them.
Applications for a new tourist visa can be made online via the airline’s website or by applying via a travel agent within your home nation.
All types of tourist and visit visas are able to be extended for as long as 30 days twice after renewal without the individual having to exit the UAE.
Tourists and visitors can put in an application for a second renewal prior to the expiration of the original renewal.
Each renewal costs Dh600.
However, those who overstay their visa and do not renew it will have to pay as much as Dh100 for every day that they overstay, which will be calculated from 10 days after the expiration of their visa.
There are a number of instances in which the visa visit extension rule does not apply.
These instances include tourists and visitors who are residents of GCC nations, or those who are travelling with GCC residents as well as those travelling on special entry permits.
The rule also excludes those on limited permits of just 96 hours for special missions.
Anyone who is travelling to or from the UAE will need to take out travel insurance.
Travel insurance helps protects tourists and visitors from the financial costs of cancelled flights and lost luggage.
