In a bid to satisfy the appetite of everyone on their flights, Cebu Pacific have whipped up several brand new simply prepared meals and familiar-tasting foods for travellers from the United Arab Emirates to give their flights an extra “homey” feel.

As of 1stOctober this year, Emiratis who get on board a Cebu Pacific plane will be able to sample new, hot meals containing flavours to remind them of home.

The new food menu is halal-certified while adhering to the international food safety system, Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP).

Cebu Pacific’s director of in-flight catering and sales JB Bueno says that it made sense for all of the airline’s flights to have a specifically designed menu, given that everyone on board will be either coming from or going to the UEA.

Bueno adds that the airline already has a strong reputation for its extensive route network and low fares that are offered all year round, and that the dishes being offered to passengers will only add to their experience and satisfaction.

Pinoy Spaghetti is a part of the new line-up, being a Filipino version on the classic form of spaghetti, with spaghetti noodles being served alongside sliced sausages in a sweet tomato-based sauce and topped off with grated cheddar cheese.

The airline is also offering a number of rice dishes such as Beef Salpicao, which features delicious tender chunks of beef seasoned in garlic and soy sauce served alongside garlic; Fish Fillet in Black Bean Sauce, which comes with a side of bok choy and is accompanied by white rice; and Hainanese Chicken Rice, the famous offering from Singapore that features steamed chicken with seasoned rice and bok choy.

Those seeking lighter options besides just Pinoy Spaghetti may also enjoy Chicken Yakisoba, which features savoury pieces of chicken and crisp vegetables in stir-fried soba noodles served in a soy-based sauce with a sweet and tangy flavour.

Vegetarians have the option of a ciabatta bread Veggie Pesto Sandwich, which is stuffed with lettuce, mozzarella cheese and tomato.

Those after a quick snack could go for the Crab Salad Sandwich, which features shredded crab sticks with vegetables that are tossed together in a mayonnaise-based creamy dressing on brioche bread with a touch of spice, or the Roasted Chicken Sandwich, which comes with roasted chicken on toasted Panini bread, grated cheddar cheese and sautéed spinach on a spread of garlic aioli.

The new halal-certified meals can be pre-ordered when either booking a flight or managing a flight that has already been booked via the airline’s website.

This ensures a dining experience that is both satisfying and safe as the meals are prepared fresh and it also helps the company avoid wasting food.

Anyone planning to travel to or from the UAE with Cebu Pacific or any other airline will need to take out travel insurance to financially protect themselves from any risks associated with the travel experience.
