Accor has opened the first Novotel hotel in Sharjah.

The lively and relaxed hospitality model that has become a trademark of the midscale brand has finally come to one of the fastest-growing tourist destinations in the United Arab Emirates.

The Novotel Sharjah Expo Centre, which has as many as 200 rooms, is in a prime city location next to the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, as well as the exhibition and convention centre.

The new centre overlooks the Al Khan Lagoon and is located near to a number of important leisure attractions.

Sharjah and Dubai International Airports are also situated within a 20-minute drive.

The centre will become a hub for business, meetings, wellness and leisure for both the local community and travellers.

The property comes with up-to-date facilities, a contemporary and natural design that makes the most of social spaces and the comfort of guests, and intuitive services.

Accor’s chief operating officer in the Middle East and Africa Marc Descrozaille says that it is perfect timing that the first Novotel property is opening in Sharjah right now.

The emirate is the third-biggest economy and culture capital in the UAE, and tourism and industry are both growing at an exponential rate.

Descrozaille says that this is a thrilling new milestone for the brand to have reached.

The destination comes with high demand for quality midscale hospitality models to offer travellers and locals alike a stylish and convenient meeting place in which they can relax and socialise and achieve a desirable work-life balance.

There are 200 suites and rooms that come with lagoon views in the Novotel Sharjah Expo Centre.

These include Executive Suites aimed at business travellers and rooms for families suited to two adults and children.

Kids under 16 will also be given complimentary breakfasts.

In terms of wellness, the centre offers a spa, a gymnasium with resistance and cardio equipment, and a swimming pool complete with a terrace that overlooks the lagoon.

There are also saunas for men and women and well-balanced modern cuisine options from three F&B outlets situated in the property.

These outlets are a coffee shop that is open 24 hours in the lobby, a Tahi Arabic restaurant that offers Middle East specialities, and a buffet-style restaurant that is open all day.

Executive travellers can avail two hi-tech meeting rooms that are capable of accommodating as many as 55 people.

There is also a business centre that comes with its own support team.

Families will be pleased by the kids’ corner and the proximity of the centre to a number of big attractions.

These attractions include the Sharjah Heritage Museum, Khalid Lagoon Corniche, Mamzar Beach Park and the Sharjah Aquarium.

Anyone who intends to travel to the Novotel Sharjah Expo Centre from outside of Sharjah will need to take out travel insurance.
